Squidoo Interview

by Bonnie Diczhazy, Squidoo Head of Community

How did you come up with the story line for New In Town?

I sat down one day and started daydreaming actually. The next day I decided to sit at the computer and type up what I'd been daydreaming about. I started the story with no idea where it was going or how it would end.

Do you have a specific writing style?

I'm not sure that I've yet to find my writing style but I hope that when I do it is my own.

What’s your favorite part of New In Town?

My favorite part is when Morag and Kelly go over to Ian's for the first time for dinner.

What are your current projects?

Right now I have book number one, in a series of three children's poetry story books almost ready to publish. All three books have been written, and the first one has been illustrated.

What do you like to do when you’re not writing?

Cooking is my second passion next to writing and when I'm not writing you will usually find me in my kitchen creating new recipes.

What book are you reading now?

I'm currently reading Ghost of Lost Eagle by Dean Sault. I don't find as much time as I'd like to, to sit down and read an actual book these days. I'm usually on the computer all day reading or writing myself and by the time I log off at night my eyes are usually ready to call it a day too.

Do you have any advice for other writers?

If it is your dream to write and publish a book then follow your dream. Try and write something every day whether it is a poem, a journal entry, an online article, or a short blog post. Join a website where other people can critique your work. Talk to other authors and maybe join a writer's workshop.

Bonnie Diczhazy, Squidoo's Head of Community will be interviewing up and coming authors for Squidoo's "Authors On Squidoo" Series. If you're an author who'd like to be interviewed please e-mail her at Squidoo royalties from the author series lenses go to the Room to Read charity.

I sure wish I had more time to read, even so this is going on my list! I Love to read things written by my fellow peers. One of my favorite books was actually self published by a nice girl who works at my local library.
